I have heard that the intake of too much green tea or other substances containing EGCG can cause pro-oxidant effects instead of anti-oxidant effects. Is this true, and if so how much green tea/EGCG would need to be consumed for this to happen and how

Just the heat from hot water will extrat the EGCGs. It does not matter if it is from a stove or a microwave.

Just make sure the water is not boiling. That is too hot and can damage the tea and you won't get many...

Snapple Green Tea keeps advertising that they have EGCG. My bottle of Lipton Green Tea does not even mention it, although it does say that it has antioxidants. Does it have EGCG? anybody know?

they probably both have antioxidants and EGCG, but not as much as freshly brewed tea. sorry but I just can't see processed bottled tea to be as fresh as freshly made tea.
